Emmy opened the gift from her aunt for her 5th birthday. Her parents were kinda iffy on her aunt Rose. Rose was always the demented family member, her and her children and husband.
Emmy lifted the top to the large box where she pulled out a stuffed bunny animal. She squeeled in happiness and clutched to Rose. "Thank you aunt Rosey!"
That's when it all started....
For a few months, Emmy's parents hadnt noticed anything wrong with the rabbit that Emmy had named Bud, after her aunt "rose" bud. Her parents were relieved that Emmy had made up an "imaginary friend" out of the rabbit, taking him everywhere and treating him like a person. But one night, it wasnt so harmless.
Emmy's mother was in the kitchen cooking when she turned, the stuffed rabbit was peeking around the corner. she thought nothing of it at first, but as she started to put Emmy to bed with Bud, and 10 seconds later see him out on the couch, she knew something was wrong with the rabbit.
Emmy was playing in the backyard as her mother tried to get her sister to take the gift back. When Rose refused, she said that it was for Emmy's own good.
One night, Emmy's mother was in the living room watching tv. She had only moments before yelled at Emmy for getting into the pickle jar and sent her to her room.
The mother started flipping channels when she felt a sharp pain on her leg. When she looked down, there was a pin right below her knee, and only a few feet away, in the chair, was the rabbit. His smile was more sinister than usual, and his head tilted evily.
Emmy's mother pulled out the pin and went to pick Bud up when she felt a shark poke in her hand. Another pin had been pushed into her hand. She stepped back from the rabbit and screamed when it's head titled to the other side and his smile widened a small bit.
Emmy's father ran over to her mother and held her close. He knew that the stuffed animal had been trying to hurt his wife, but this was too much for him. He didnt want the 'thing' to do worse.
They both knew that they couldnt get rid of the doll since it was attached to their daughter, and they knew that if they told anyone it would land them into the mental institute. That gave Emmy's father an idea.
Emmy woke up the next morning and felt around. "Bud?" she got up and ran into the living room. "Bud?" She looked around and saw her father trying to cut the rabbit into smaller peices. Emmy screamed and ran over to him. "DADDY! What are you doing!?" She tried to get the rabbit, but her father held it out of her reach. "DADDY!" Emmy's face filled with tears. "GIVE HIM BACK! DONT HURT HIM!"
Her father slapped her across the cheek. "Go to your room! This thing attacked your mother!" Emmy screamed louder and ignored the pain in her cheek.
She finally was able to jump up and grab the rabbit quickly rushing to the corner of the livingroom to check for 'injuries' of the stuffed animal.
Later that day, a white van pulled into the drive of the small house. Emmy's mother went to the corner where she had been staying all day and smiled uneasily. "Emmy, sweetie, these men are going to take you for a ride ok?" Emmy nodded and let her mother lead her to the door where a couple of men in white took her hand and led her to the van. Emmy looked back to see her mother breaking down crying. She stopped and looked at her parents. "Dont worry mommy, I'll be home before dinner."
Little did the young girl know... she would never see her parents again.
